Job Description

As a project controls manager working as an integral part of the Mott MacDonald team, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead the cost

    and schedule

    control function for a major oil & gas projects undertaken by Mott MacDonald;

  • Establish and implement detailed project controls plans and procedures in accordance with Mott MacDonald standards and client project requirements;

  • Develop and maintain project progress reporting, including all financial and earned value reporting, in accordance with contract and business requirements;

  • Prepare project budgets and estimates;

  • Establish and maintain baseline budgets

    , schedule

    and cost plans, communicating status on an ongoing basis to project teams, clients and other third parties;

  • Implement and monitor and administer change control requirements including changes to project scope, budgets, contracts and schedule;

  • Capture and monitor data to ensure accurate and reliable plans, cost, schedule, contract, pricing and invoicing information are in place and accurately and promptly reported;

  • Develop and maintain planned and actual cost and commitment schedules (including “S” curves) and earned value;

  • Review, distribute and track invoices and progress payments for Mott MacDonald, its subconsultants and other third parties;

  • Communicate project control needs and objectives to Mott MacDonald line managers and other project personnel;

  • Assist the Project Manager with project reviews and QA/QC functions;

  • Lead

    the Senior Project Controls Specialist in administration of subconsultant and third party contracts;

  • Interface and maintain liaison with clients, subcontractors and others on all cost and schedule control related activities;

  • Ensure consistent functionality of cost

    and schedule

    control reporting systems across a portfolio of Mott MacDonald and client projects and office locations; and

  • Lead the schedule team in developing construction schedules for each of the projects in the Program, which are updated as the design progresses

  • Lead the schedule team in reviewing designer baseline schedules for their design work, review monthly updates and earned value reports

  • Develop Master Program Schedule (MPS) and update monthly.

  • The master schedule will summarize the planning, design procurement, design, contractor procurement and construction for each project, project interfaces, vehicle delivery, PM/CM key deliverables, program milestones

  • Developing construction schedules for each of the projects in the program, which are updated as the design progress

  • Lead the schedule team in reviewing and reconciling Construction Contract Time Determination (CTD) Schedules that are submitted by the designer of record with each design deliverable

  • Support critical activities such as Value Engineering (VE) studies, risk analyses, and claims (time entitlement analysis).

  • Working with designer to define construction phasing, establish construction contract milestones and limitations of operations in conjunction with the CTD schedule

  • Reviewing construction contractor schedules, monitor progress against planned completion and contract milestones

  • Lead the schedule team in providing all schedule reporting as required, such as the monthly report, the 6-week look ahead and schedule “hot list” to monitor program progress and identify key activities that require attention

  • Supervise, train and develop other project control support staff.

  • The ideal candidate will have the ambition to take on additional roles in developing the business in North America and be willing to travel to client sites both local and non-local.
