SHIFT: 2nd Shift (3:30 PM – 12 AM)

Our Medical Components business, a leading supplier of micro machining components, nickel titanium and precious metal parts, and other advanced components for the Medical Device Industry, has an exciting opportunity for a Swiss Screw Machinist.

The Swiss Machinists reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for the set up and operations of Swiss Screw Machines used in the manufacturing of precision machined parts used in the medical device industry.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reads and interprets blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of machined parts.

  • Reads and interprets process sheet to determine sequence of operations and setup requirements.

  • Able to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls/tools as required.

  • Adjusts set ups to include type of tooling decisions and program editing as needed.

  • Verifies conformance and dimensions of finished precision parts to specifications.

  • Installs machined replacement parts and worn tools as required.

  • Able to provide solutions to technical problems and assist on special projects.

  • Consultant and mentor to other personnel.

  • Performs secondary bench operations on all first articles and/or as required, which include but not limited to inspection, harperizing, de-burring, and cleaning of parts.

  • Able to utilize toolmakers microscope, digital callipers, micrometer, optical comparator, and other related equipment with optimal accuracy.

  • Maintains lot trace ability, log sheets, and good housekeeping practices at all times.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

    Are you the ideal candidate?

Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Must have CNC and/or other machining certification and 10+ years machining work experience with demonstrated ability. Must be capable of timely, complete, and accurate troubleshooting of primary and secondary operations and equipment to include effective program and process changing, tooling problem solving, and necessary machine and equipment modifications.
