UAT Manager / Cognosante Practice Lead – QA/Testing

This position encompasses two separate roles: WY UAT Manger and the Cognosante Practice Lead for QA/UAT Testing

WY UAT Manager scope of work:

  • Support user acceptance testing activities already in progress for the WINGS FWA module
  • Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing activities for the WINGS DW/BI-R module integration with the System Integrator – Enterprise Service Bus (SI/ESB)
  • Develop and manage UAT test cases for DW/BI-R and FWA as needed, for State staff execution
  • Manage UAT tools (already developed and available from WINGS team) for both modules
  • Coordinate and provide comprehensive UAT training for State UAT testers
  • Coordinate and manage UAT test execution for DW/BI-R and FWA as needed
  • Execute defect management processes and reporting

This UAT Manager assignment involves two WINGS component modules: Fraud, Waste, Abuse Analytics and Case Tracking (FWA), and Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Tools and Reporting (DW/BI-R) modules.

The Practice Lead for QA/Testing will be responsible for the development and oversight of Cognosante Consulting’s QA/Testing services. QA/Testing provides the framework for Cognosante to provide quality assurance services, including test planning, management, and execution. The Practice Lead will report to a Practice Sponsor within Cognosante Consulting and work closely with the senior leadership team to develop an enhanced QA/Testing solution and execute our strategic plan.  This position is part-time and practice duties will be accomplished in conjunction with responsibilities on an active project.

Practice Lead key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a Practice Charter that defines practice development activities.  The Practice charter will define schedule, resource and budget requirements and will outline practice accomplishments and active project activities
  • Oversight of all QA/Testing projects including personnel, budget, quality, service levels and executive client interaction
  • Identify, create, drive and deliver innovative strategies to generate opportunities with new and existing QA clients
  • Work closely with senior leaders to enhance QA/Testing solution offering
  • Formulate and implement best practices across QA/Testing teams and offerings
  • Mentor staff to improve processes, procedures and standards
  • Support business development and bottom line accountability for QA/Testing practice
  • Build relationships with key partners
  • Work closely with business development teams to identify and close on opportunities
  • Develop strong client and internal relationships to expand current projects and identify new business and cross-selling opportunities
  • Develop and maintain contact with top
    decision makers at key clients
  • Participate and lead technical aspects of the proposal development process
  • Collaborate with other Practice Leads and Practice Directors to develop integrated solutions
  • Represent Cognosante at key conferences and seminars

Additional duties include:

  • Update end‐to‐end testing scenarios
  • Support the UAT test managers in supporting UAT testers
  • Support testing training management
  • Provide UAT expertise
  • Support documentation of testing activities and results
  • Attend project and status meetings as required
  • Support Monthly QA Status Report development

Employee is expected to undertake any additional duties as they are assigned by their Manager

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of work experience or 9+ years of work experience without a Bachelor’s
  • Possess an advanced understanding of healthcare industry software testing, with demonstrated experience in planning, managing, coordinating, and executing user acceptance testing and defect reporting
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience involved in mid-scale or large-scale system development projects (including using test automation, test strategy, developing and executing test scripts and test plans)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Federal and State health and human services (HHS) programs (i.e., SNAP, TANF, Child Support, Care Management, EHR, WIC, EBT, Child Care, Medicaid, CHIP)

  • Ability to develop effective, positive working relationships with both internal and external contacts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products, e.g. Word, Excel and online applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Industry standard Testing Best Practices Test Certifications
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, CMM, CMMi and other industry standards
  • Defect/bug management and familiarity with defect management tools (Bugzilla, JIRA etc.)
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Familiarity with requirements traceability matrix
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing preferred
  • Creating testing requirements from design documents, functional requirements etc.
  • Testing phases, testing entrance and exit criteria
  • Testing data creation and maintenance
  • Familiarity with development tools and development languages
