About Transmission and Distribution Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts. Position Overview The Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Principal Manager and interact daily with management, staff, and external contacts. Typical Responsibilities:
  • Directs internal and external customer correspondences to appropriate person/department (e.g. billing, logistics, offline support, etc.), including handling confidential and sensitive telephone calls, files, documents, and reports.
  • Calendars meetings, schedules and coordinates meetings, conference calls, prepares agendas, and discussion materials.
  • Generates and processes research reports, meter order backlog, inactive lists, pending cancellations, and various other reports.
  • Files electronic and paper documents, including processing invoices, contracts, supply orders, purchase requests, ledgers, and expense reports.
  • Creates and maintains a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Four or more years of experience performing advanced administrative, secretarial, and clerical functions.
  • Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such as VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience processing purchase request, contracts, and invoices.
  • Experience tracking, processing, and submitting supplies and/or repair/maintenance orders.
  • Experience compiling information and entering data into computer
  • Experience filing electronic and paper documents.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, and Excel to create and edit reports, graphs, schedules, matrices and convert information from one format to another.
  • Experience calendaring meetings, including scheduling and coordinating meetings and conference calls.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including editing proper sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress, engage in continuous learning, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
