Director Technology Program Management Lead

Mercer Global Technology Industry Vertical

Location: NY, Dallas, San Francisco

The Technology Program Manager will work closely with Technology Vertical stakeholders, Multinational Client Group Leaders and Operations to drive the execution of the team’s Roadmap from the activation through execution phase, ensuring key activities are undertaken and the vertical milestones are met. S/he will act as the primary point of contact on the Technology Vertical initiatives and will be involved from strategy through execution of these initiatives, with guidance from the Technology Vertical Leader. The purpose of the Technology Industry Vertical team is to develop initiatives that elevate Mercer’s brand, demonstrate industry expertise, identification of solutions based on the unique challenges of tech companies, and to drive growth of Mercer’s largest global technology companies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Thought Leadership and Industry Brand Development

  • Working with the Technology vertical leader, review industry cuts from ongoing Mercer research for talking points and inclusion in Vertical deliverables
  • Provide inputs and support the development of marketing collateral and thought leadership (POVs, media releases etc.)
  • Lead the development Technology industry-specific research and frameworks
  • Work with the Marketing team to plan and execute marketing events for the Technology Industry sector (Round Tables, Power Breakfasts, etc.)

Client Strategy and Business Development

  • Develop industry-related analyses focused on companies, markets, solutions/products, etc.
  • In partnership with Technology Industry Leader, support business development opportunities with Global Client Managers (GCMs) and line of business leaders
  • Lead and support RFP and client proposals that require industry-related insights
  • Support strategic client projects and deliverables and help coach Mercer client teams as needed
  • Conduct and support strategic client meetings to share recent industry trends and the latest Tech Industry Vertical research
  • In partnership with experts across lines of business (Health, Wealth, and Career), create go-to-market campaigns and/or deliverables to showcase solutions that resonate (or will resonate) with clients in the technology industry

Project Management

  • Develop and drive action plans to deliver the vertical roadmap milestones and track/report on progress vs. plan
  • Anticipate resource gaps and other execution challenges early to ensure key vertical activities and deliverables are on track
  • Act as the custodian of Technology Vertical materials (case studies, proposal materials, Go to Market materials etc.) for the vertical and ensure they are updated on a quarterly basis, working with Solutions, LOBs and Global Client Managers (GCMs) as needed and shared with stakeholders
  • Participate in key leadership and broader business meetings or conference calls, disseminating meeting materials and agendas, coordinating meeting events, recording feedback/actions from meetings, and tracking actions agreed to as part of the project plan

Operations and

Reporting

  • Develop monthly and quarterly leadership reports that include revenue/sales details for the accounts within the technology industry vertical portfolio
  • Assess overall health of the vertical portfolio and determine what’s driving growth and declines across accounts, regions and lines of business
  • Drive stakeholder communications with other vertical PMs and support strategic MCG initiatives as needed

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Manage, engage, and lead the Technology Industry Vertical’s internal community (consultants and line of business leaders that support technology clients)
  • Lead quarterly community calls to share vertical initiatives, recent wins, vertical performance, recent industry trends, latest research, go-to-market campaigns, case studies, etc.
  • Develop quarterly newsletter to share recent news, vertical initiatives, and relevant updates for the Technology Industry Vertical Community

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • 8-10 years of experience in consulting (management or human capital-related)
  • Proven success operating at Principal level in Technology related Human Capital Consulting in large company
  • Superior project and stakeholder management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Systemic or holistic thinking
  • High degree of judgment required
  • Lateral influence is key
