Where the Chemistry Happens… Warehouse Material Handler - 1900258 - Kankakee, IL The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for all receipts and shipments of packaged raw materials and finished goods at the Kankakee Facility. This includes labeling, securing freight, and driving a forklift. In addition, the following activities will be performed: Primary Responsibilities: Transportation of packaged materials from the receiving warehouse to production units Removal of full trash bins in general areas Removal of empty drums and totes from production to the appropriate locations, ensuing proper paperwork and RCRA requirements are met. Work from both verbal & written instructions of the Logistics Supervisor. Data entry for documentation/record purposes into SAP, excel, batch records, etc. Utilize SAP and Scanner guns for processing shipments and proper inventory controls. Follow all required shipping guidelines set forth on pick tickets to ensure all legal and customer requirements are met. Complete cleaning requirements
to meet GMP schedules. Inventory accuracy at all warehouse locations Perform assigned duties as outlined by supervisor, management or designee. Participate in all required safety training Familiarity with safety practices and techniques relating to the chemical industry (e.g. Safe Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work). This includes writing permits & SEC’s. Support and participate in the site ISO 9000, PSM, RMP and RCMS programs. Support & participate in the BASF Process Safety Program (i.e. Zero Incident Mindset, complete training, report all incidents, participate in investigations etc.). A basic understanding and awareness of chemicals and their nature, hazards, safety and health issues etc. (MSDS’s, use of PPE etc.) Ability to meet the physical demands of the job which include: working up to a 12 hour rotating shifts and overtime as required, working indoors and outdoors with the use of stairways/ladders to perform tasks.
