Essential Functions of Role:
This position is a “hands on” position working along side the crew, picking orders, loading trucks, etc. as well as providing assistance to the supervisor in supervising the hourly crew. An important aspect of this position is that the majority of the time will be spent on the floor, ensuring the department is working on the correct priorities in a timely & accurate manner.
Accountable for:
-
Assisting in the Supervision of the Logistics crew activities, includes shipping, receiving, restack & warehouse management.
- Ensure all customer orders are filled in an accurate & timely manner.
- Work effectively with the Logistics’ coordinator on all daily activities.
- Establish the daily work priorities by coordinating with the Logistics Manager & Traffic Coordinators.
- Ensure first in, first out rotation is followed (FIFO).
- Work with the Logistics’ Coordinator, Warehouse Foreman and Department Manager to ensure the perpetual inventory records are accurate at all times.
- Comply with all the housekeeping expectations.
- Work effectively with Warehouse Foreman, on the transition from first to second shifts activities.
- Understand and follow all appropriate QA & USDA policies & procedures.
- Comply with all appropriate SSOP & HACCP requirements.
- Provide Logistics’ Coordinator back up in the event of illness or vacation.
- Other duties assigned by the Department Manager.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate, College preferred.
- Must have 1-2 years of experience with Hi-Lo, or prior experience in a shipping & receiving and or warehouse setting.
- 3-5 years previous experience in Shipping, Inventory Control, Warehouse Management environment.
- Computer proficiency & detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with other departments & multiple levels of management.
- Excellent math skills
