Overview
Center Creek Capital Group, a dynamic, young real estate private equity firm, is seeking an Accountant with strong financial, communication and organizational skills as we build out our team. This is a pivotal role as the organization continues to take on a significant volume of work and requires someone with knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, and superior organizational skills.
In this role, you will participate in the fund financial activities, working directly with the property managers and Center Creek’s assistant controller. You will be responsible for uploading the property managers’ monthly activities into our accounting platform (QuickBooks and Netsuite), as well as supporting our assistant controller and auditors. You will act as the secondary manager of our offshore accountants. This includes making sure all payables are recorded following company protocol, primary management of the Fund’s bookkeeping, financial records, vendor payments accrual schedules and timely production of month/quarter end financials. Experience in real estate is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have accounting experience in a real estate, private equity and/or public accounting environment and is looking to make a move to an in-house position with strong career growth potential.
Duties
- Overseeing the work of our offshore assistants as they upload data into the accounting software and review those statements for accuracy and completeness
- Reviewing financial reports from 3rd party service providers including Property Management and Renovation Services
- Preparing General Ledger entries in QuickBooks and NetSuite and creating month-end reconciliations and financial reports for the Funds
- Coordinating with lenders on quarterly/yearly requirements and property refinancing process
- Supporting the Accounts Payable process by reviewing invoices third parties
- Assist in the preparation of investor capital calls and distributions for Center Creek funds as well as handle ad-hoc investor reporting requests
- Assisting the assistant controller with preparing reports for senior management, investment, portfolio management, and operations team
- Ad-hoc projects and duties as required for fund-level
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
- 1-3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in real estate, private equity and/or public accounting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with financial reporting packages including QuickBooks and NetSuite, MS Office/Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with supervision.
