JOB DESCRIPTION: SUBSTITUTE TEACHER FOR LAS CRUCES AREA SCHOOLS

QUALIFICATIONS Meets State and Local Requirements for Licensure including a cleared background check. Ability to assist implementing an instructional support program with students of varying grades K-12. Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to follow verbal and written directions/lessons plans that are set forth with School Leadership or Office Staff. Must be able to abide with School/Student confidentiality. Must maintain as a positive role model for the School, Students and ACES Substitute Program. Maintaining current licensures required by the State of New Mexico.
RESPONSIBILITIES Report to the School Office or online at the hour requested to pick up lesson plans, materials or additional responsibilities such as lunch recess or after school duty. Abide by procedures provided by School Leadership such as signing in and signing out at front office. Carry forth the duties of a regular Teacher accordingly with school policy. Instruct existing lesson plans with academic integrity while motivating students to participate and learn. Assign appropriate schoolwork and homework to students during school and after school, according to lesson plans. Handle all disruptive students according to school policy to make sure that the classroom or online environment is a safe and positive learning environment. Report all incidents such as, disciplinary actions, accidents, injuries, damaged property or thief to the School Administrator and ACES Substitute Manager.
