Department Information

Housing and Residence Life is passionate about the Georgia Tech residential student experience. With 97% of all first-year students choosing to live on campus, we create spaces and opportunities for Yellow Jackets to grow and connect from their first day of college through their graduate studies. We are proud to support our students¿ personal development and academic endeavors while providing a safe and comfortable living environment.
Our department is a large and complex organization supporting over 8,700 on-campus residents among 49 traditional halls, suites, and apartments, some of which were constructed for the 1996 Summer Olympics. Our team of 200+ professional staff and 300+ student staff from six departments supports residents directly and indirectly with their unique talents. We are housed within the Student Engagement and Well-Being division, which includes many student service offices.

Job Summary

The Acquisitions Coordinator is responsible for supporting the acquisition process by coordinating financial analyses and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Assist in the coordination of acquisition processes by gathering and organizing necessary financial data and documentation for potential acquisitions.


Job Duty 2 -
Perform financial analyses, including valuation assessments and due diligence, to evaluate the financial health of acquisition targets.


Job Duty 3 -
Develop and prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations related to potential acquisitions for presentation to senior management.

Job Duty 4 -
Ensure that all acquisition-related documentation is accurate, complete, and organized, facilitating easy access for review and compliance purposes.

Job Duty 5 -
Serve as a liaison between various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure effective communication during the acquisition process.

Job Duty 6 -
Support negotiation efforts by providing relevant financial data and analysis to inform decision-making during acquisition discussions.

Job Duty 7 -
Monitor and report on the performance of completed acquisitions, analyzing financial outcomes and identifying areas for improvement.

Job Duty 8 -

Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as investment banks and industry analysts, to enhance acquisition opportunities.

Job Duty 9 -

Research and analyze market trends and industry developments to identify potential acquisition opportunities that align with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Accounting, Management, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to five years of job-related experience

  • Preferred knowledge and skills associated with this job include four or more years of relevant work experience with the following:
  • Creating or approving purchase requisitions within an electronic procurement system, such as Workday or Team Georgia Marketplace.
  • Conducting PO spend analysis and creating reports to identify relevant department purchasing trends.
  • Advising and training department end-users on state procurement regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Reviewing and providing recommendations on end-user bid solicitation documents, scope of work requirements, sole source/consortia justifications, price reasonableness of quotes, and other related matters.
  • Analyzing department open PO commitments and closing outstanding balances.
  • Must be capable of handling procurement or financial-related assignments that require strategic thinking, multi-tasking, data analysis, and problem-solving with limited supervision.

Preferred Educational Qualifications


  • Bachelor¿s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Management, and a minimum of four years of relevant work experience in the field of procurement for state government or public education.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Management, and a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in the field of procurement for state government or public education.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant work experience in the field of procurement for state government or public education. Two years of relevant work experience can be substituted for one year of education at the Bachelor¿s degree level.

Proposed Salary

Pay Range: 47,872-$76,000/yr.

This job requires: Knowledge of State of Georgia / Department of Administrative Services Purchasing Regulations; project management skills; strong communication, organizational, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and basic knowledge of office-related computer applications.
