Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities and programs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors in our assisted living community. Duties: - Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational activities for residents - Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings - Provide one-on-one support and assistance to residents who require additional help with activities of daily living (ADLs) - Collaborate with the Activity Director to develop and maintain an activity calendar - Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and supportive environment - Document resident participation and progress in activity programs - Assist with setting up and cleaning up activity areas - Provide companionship and social interaction to residents Qualifications: - Previous experience in assisted living or senior care preferred - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate events - Knowledge of event planning principles and techniques - Familiarity with recreational therapy concepts is a plus - Understanding of aging issues and counseling techniques - Ability to work effectively as part of a team - Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor At our facility, we offer competitive pay rates, comprehensive benefits packages, and opportunities for career advancement.
