The administrative associate assists the District 13 Court Services office in Whiteville, NC. This position is part of the Juvenile Justice Court Services team and is responsible for performing various office duties including:
  • Communicating effectively both orally and written with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Completion of data entry and reporting from NCJOIN and other electronic resources
  • Maintain inventory and ordering supplies and equipment
  • Sorting and handling office mail
  • Prepare documents and reports for the office
  • Providing assistance to staff and visitors and resolving problems and/or inquiries
  • Serve as a Notary Public
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Included in this department are Alcohol Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Information Network, Emergency Management, Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, NC National Guard, NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency, Samarcand Training Academy, State Capitol Police, and State Highway Patrol. Also included are these Boards and Commissions: ABC Commission, Governor’s Crime Commission, Private Protective Services Commission, and Boxing & Combat Sports Commission. DPS is comprised of approximately 6,000 permanent positions and nearly 13,000 NC National Guard temporary positions.

To qualify for this position, applicants must
demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:
  • Experience maintaining confidential data, files and/or records.
  • Experience providing customer service and resolving problems and/or questions with the general public and internal staff members.
  • Experience with general office administrative procedures.
  • Experience with entering data into a database and using Microsoft Programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Management Preferences (Optional): These skills are not required but managers may choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences.
  • Current Notary Public

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience;
