This temporary position is located in Wilson - Wilson County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 4761 Ward Blvd, Wilson, NC 27893.
The primary purpose of the Purchasing Assistant is to assure that all purchasing matters are executed or resolved efficiently and perform required job functions by following established purchasing procedures as outlined in the Administrative Code within the DHHS Purchasing manual guidelines.
This position provides administrative support to the Purchasing Department, Business Manager, and Budget Office.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Basic knowledge of program services, policies and procedures; ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in performance of office support tasks; ability to explain and interpret program information to clients/customers and staff.
- Basic knowledge of data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.
- Ability to utilize office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Reviewing, coding and preparing invoices to be sent to the Controller’s Office for payment.
- Uploading of all invoices into the OOC Document Repository
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
