We are seeking a dedicated Admissions Specialist to manage the admissions process at our facility. This role involves handling incoming calls from referral sources and prospective patients, verifying insurance, conducting intake assessments, and coordinating room assignments. The Admissions Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient intake experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls from referral sources and prospective patients
  • Verify insurance coverage and process admissions efficiently
  • Conduct intake assessments and gather necessary patient information
  • Enter patient demographics accurately into the system
  • Coordinate room changes and maintain an organized admission waitlist
  • Communicate admission details to hospital staff, including nursing and administrative teams

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience conducting intake assessments and managing patient data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical records systems
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a clinical setting, preferably in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment
  • Licenses/Certifications: Not required
