Natural Habitat Adventures (Nat Hab), a nature-focused global adventure travel company based in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking an Adventure Manager to join the Adventure Operations Department. This is a full-time, exempt position and you must reside within one hour of our Louisville, CO office. This role is a co-Trip Owner role primarily responsible for planning and execution of Nat Hab's Ultimate Alaska and Alaska Bear Camp programs, working closely with Team Alaska, third-party partners, field team and other members of the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, organize, and operate Nat Hab’s trip itineraries to the highest possible standards.
  • Liaise and negotiate with operators and/or vendors to manage all trip logistics and required reservations, such as hotel nights, restaurants, trip activities, permits and transportation.
  • Manage trip pricing and gross margin for programs with Co-TO.
  • Monitor sales performance and successfully manage trip inventory, acquiring or releasing dates as bookings dictate.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with ground operators, vendors, and other key partners.
  • Provide support for field staff, helping to ensure trip quality and safety, as well as branding in the field in collaboration with other members of Team Alaska.
  • Work with the Alaska team on Nat Hab gear purchases and branding in the field.
  • Work with the Finance department to review and approve invoices from partners/vendors.
  • Ensure field staff are prepared with pre-trip instructions and complete traveler-related information in collaboration with the Field Operations Manager.
  • Act as a problem-solver for Expedition Leaders, field staff and operators/vendors as required to address issues/concerns pre, during and post-trip, including evenings and weekends, when required.
  • Act as a resource for in-house Adventure Specialist, Concierge and Guest Services colleagues regarding trip-specific information such as itinerary, hotel, meal, and transportation details.
  • Provide content for and maintain digital and print marketing materials in conjunction with the Marketing team.
  • Organize, build, and ensure the complete accuracy of dates, pricing, and other key trip details in our CRM software and on the Nat Hab website.
  • Responsible for Nat Hab’s after-hours phone, approximately 4 weeks a year for emergency coverage.
  • Continually review and implement feedback from guests and field staff to improve future departures.
  • Ensure partners are compliant in terms of risk management, contracts, insurance, and other details.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of field staff training retreats.
  • Be on site at times, as needed, at various destinations where we operate.
  • May assist on other programs within North America as the need arises.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understands trip development and trip value creation and pricing.
  • 1-3 years of Industry experience (1 year of Nat Hab OPC experience preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite including Excel spreadsheets.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Database experience preferred.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy adapting to new priorities and deadlines in a rapid-paced, fast-changing environment.
  • Excels working individually and as part of a team.
  • Flexible work schedule.

COMPENSATION

Starting salary range: $67,500-$72,000 plus annual bonus. Compensation is commensurate with experience. (Per Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, employers must include compensation ranges in job postings).

LOCATION AND TRAVEL

We are currently considering candidates who reside within a one-hour commute of our Louisville, CO office. This role requires in-office presence of at least two days per week. Additionally, the position may entail 4–6 weeks of travel annually.


This location and travel policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.


WORKING HOURS

Our standard company hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MT. On Saturdays, we are open from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM for select members of our guest-facing teams. Additional hours may be required as needed to meet your goals and support business needs.
