Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by providing accurate estimates and ensuring that all project specifications are met. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in construction management software, and a solid understanding of project scheduling and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and coordinators to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Utilize software tools such as Prolog, Primavera, ProCore, and Civil 3D for project management and estimating tasks.
- Read blueprints effectively to identify key components and requirements for each project.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for more precise estimates.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure adherence to estimates.
- Assist in project scheduling to align timelines with budgetary constraints.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and verify pricing.
- Walk and measure job prior to submitting bids
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding technical drawings.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid background in project management principles and practices.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for precise estimations.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Asphalt paving and estimating experience required
- Must speak English
