Department Information

Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) serves the Institute and its more than 14,000 employees through strategic counsel, employee engagement, and essential human capital management operations. As the people's unit, GTHR is engaged throughout the employee's lifetime at Georgia Tech. Our team works with sensitive employee information and assists in the management of complex employee issues. Professionalism and confidence are of the utmost importance within our team.


What we do:

  • Process payroll and maintain employment data for approximately 14,000 active faculty, staff, and students
  • Strive to attract, recruit, and retain the best talent in the marketplace.
  • Provide immigration, labor, and tax support required for foreign national faculty and staff to work at Georgia Tech and support employees performing services overseas.
  • Leverage a market-driven compensation structure to attract and retain employees.
  • Advise employees and managers regarding work performance and conflict management.

Job Summary

Provide executive-level administrative services for one or more executive positions. Efforts include event planning, scheduling, briefings, and presentation preparation, as well as facilitating visits to and communications with the AVP's office.

Job Summary

Job Duty 1 -
Coordinate scheduling for AVP with senior-level campus administration, external stakeholders, and other executives, and maintain the calendar.

Job Duty 2 -
Coordinate travel arrangements, including the processing of travel authorizations.

Job Duty 3 -
Plan, organize, and lead the implementation of special events and visits.

Job Duty 4 -
Research and develop materials in preparation for corporate visits, conferences, meetings, etc.

Job Duty 5 -
May oversee monitoring of budget and purchasing activity.

Job Duty 6 -
Maintain, update, and monitor departmental files, databases, records, and resource information.

Job Duty 7 -
Develop special presentations as directed by the AVP.

Job Duty 8 -
Communicate and interpret administrative policies; develop internal office-related procedures as appropriate.

Job Duty 9 -
Oversee arrangements and provide support for special projects and unit initiatives. Manage, track, and monitor progress reports, proposals, and related project communications.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


Required Experience
Six or more years of job-related experience.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for interacting with various parties.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, financial models, and market trends.

  • Handling sensitive information: This includes securely managing personnel files, legal documents, meeting notes, and private correspondence.

Proposed Salary

Pay Range: $26.24-$31.22/hr.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires extensive knowledge of the Institute's policies, program administration, and event planning. Skills in organization, briefing, report preparation, communications, meeting leadership and coordination, and customer service are required, as well as the use of office-related computer applications.
