Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a dynamic fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining exceptional standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee daily kitchen activities including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during meal periods.
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Experience
- Proven experience in a fine dining restaurant or similar culinary environment.
- Strong background in restaurant management and supervising kitchen staff.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling practices, and food safety standards.
- Experience with shift management to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Bartending experience is a plus but not required.
