Responsibilities:
Our Addiction Therapists analyze patients, develop their treatment plans, provide individual or group therapy (each specializes in one of these) to patients consistent with their treatment plans, and prepare patients for discharge. This role works independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of an integrating team. Our Addiction Therapists:
- Primary responsibility is to work the floor and cover shifts for clinical call outs, as well as oversee a staff of individual and/or group therapy addiction therapists
- Meets with addiction therapists to provide clinical supervision (if independently licensed)
- Assess patient symptoms regularly, report condition changes to physician if change in treatment plan may be necessary
- Assists in overseeing and actively improving fitness, enrichment, chapel and/or other ancillary programs designed to complement Clinical Treatment Protocol
- Lead group therapy as necessary in absence of available Group Therapist
- Secondary responsibilities would include managerial duties as assigned by the Clinical Director such as compliance, audits, and staff training.
- Assist or lead patient intake process as needed
- Oversees all clinical staff including hiring, training, and termination in the absence of the Clinical Director
- Assists in coordinating all outside speakers and guest lecturers included in Treatment Protocol
- Assists in reviewing Biopsychosocial Evaluations and Individualized Treatment Plans
- Participates in weekly Treatment Team meetings to evaluate progress of all patients and makes recommendations for adjustments to Treatment Plan
- Planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and motivating the clinical team in the absence of the Clinical Director
- Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in the absence of the Clinical Director
- Perform all other tasks assigned by supervisor
- Assist with carrying out supervisory responsibilities as delegated by the Clinical Director in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications:
- Must hold at least a Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or equivalent field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Active fully Independent licensure in the facilities state of employment
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical role within Chemical Dependency field preferred
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and accreditation process strongly preferred
- Must be committed to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use
- Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly prefer
