Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Assistant Controller to support the financial health and operational efficiency of our organization. This role is responsible for supporting core accounting functions (GL, close, audits) while also providing in-depth financial analysis, forecasting, and business insights across departments.
The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation in a manufacturing environment, experience with financial reporting, and a passion for using data to drive better business decisions. This position plays a critical role in partnering with operations, supply chain, and senior leadership to align financial reporting with strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy.
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers.
- Review and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Support accounts payable, receivable, and fixed asset tracking as needed.
Financial Analysis & Operations Support:
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Build financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making support.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to develop margin, cost, and performance analytics.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to support data-driven business operations.
- Support inventory analysis, cost accounting, and COGS reporting.
- Participate in strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects involving finance, systems, and operations.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA/CMA preferred).
4–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, or FP&A.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or operations-based industries is strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
