Description
The Assistant Controller supports key financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective reporting throughout the organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role assists in managing accounting, disbursement, receivables, tax compliance, systems integrity, and executive support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the accurate and timely production of internal and external monthly financial statements, year-end audits, and annual budgets.
- Help ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, and payroll processing.
- Assist with payroll tax compliance.
- Support the timely handling of all accounts receivable aging components, including billings and cash receipts application.
- Ensure accurate and timely assistance in preparing company income tax returns.
- Help establish and maintain processes and systems that safeguard the integrity of accounting information, processes, and company value.
- Provide timely and accurate support for ad hoc financial needs and requests.
- Assist in various special projects and compile reports as needed.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with co-workers, management, clients, and others.
- Train operations managers on accounting related systems processes as necessary.
- Adhere to all company regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Progress toward CPA or an equivalent credential is preferred.
- At least 2 years of accounting or financial reporting experience.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, and tax regulations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push/pull/lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- This role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, and visual attention.
