What You'll Do:
The Dispensary Assistant Manager will aid in oversight of retail operations. This person will work to manage dispensary sales and image through extraordinary customer service and supervision of the Dispensary team members. General job duties include in depth knowledge of seed to sale and point of sale systems, product knowledge and education, inventory controls, purchasing and receiving of goods, vendor relations, staff maintenance, hiring recommendations, training, disciplinary actions, documentation, evaluation and scheduling assistance of the Dispensary team while helping to ensure the best possible employee and customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure that an accurate inventory of all cannabis, and non-cannabis items is being kept at all times.
- Daily checks and recording of point of sale cash drawers and nightly deposits.
- Manage opening and closing procedures to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage dispensary staff, including occasional interviewing, hiring input, onboarding assistance, conducting performance evaluations as needed, training, promotional recommendation, staff discipline, documentation of staff, education of product and Company's standard operating procedures and scheduling assistance.
- Manage and monitor the activities of the dispensary, to ensure that all procedures in the store are being followed to meet current regulations and offer the most effective treatment to both employees and guests.
- Understand and assist with training procedures so that the retail staff will have a comprehensive understanding of all marijuana and marijuana-infused or derived products being sold to patients, as well as best practices of consumption for any consumer.
- Work as a team leader to maintain an effective atmosphere and efficient service.
- Drive sales of all materials cannabis and non-cannabis on a consistent basis.
- Maintain relationships with vendors as needed.
- Communicate with General Manager and Director of Operations as appropriate on all Key Performance Indicators during weekly meetings if needed.
- Communicate with General Manager of any complaints during daily operations or negative customer interactions as soon as possible.
- When applicable welcome each guest personally using enthusiastic words, tone, and body language, verifying proper paperwork, documentation, and ID for guests.
- Provide assistance with managing the cleaning, stocking, and organizing dispensary; working with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked in accordance with the Company's standards at all times.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends and products offered.
- Update menus and signage with informative and visually appealing information.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products and trends
- Minimum of 3 years of retail cannabis management experience
- Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations including weekend and evening hours
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, Point of Sale software, and cash management
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field preferred
- Comfortable being on your feet all day and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator: clear, respectful, and easy to talk to
- You must be 21 or older (per MA state law)
