About the Role:
Are you passionate about fitness, leadership, and delivering an exceptional member experience? Chevy Chase Club seeks a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Fitness Director to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven fitness professional who thrives in a collaborative, high-touch environment and is committed to excellence in service and wellness. Position opens in September.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & Inspire: Manage, schedule, and support the Personal Training team to provide personalized, results-oriented service that meets the diverse needs of our members.
- Hands-On Coaching: Deliver up to 10 personal training sessions per week, with the opportunity to earn additional commission through leading specialty classes, seminars, or wellness workshops.
- Collaborative Programming: Partner with internal departments, including Golf, Tennis, and Aquatics, to create integrated wellness and sports experiences that elevate the club’s offerings.
- Facility Excellence: Ensure the fitness center is spotless, fully equipped, and inviting, creating a positive and motivating environment for all members.
- Operational Support: Help with budgeting, payroll, and billing and ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Culture & Safety: Maintain a warm, professional presence while upholding club policies, procedures, and safety standards.
What Makes You a Strong Candidate:
- A certified personal trainer with leadership experience in a fitness or club setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to lead and inspire others.
- Organized, dependable, and solution-oriented
- Passion for delivering an elite-level wellness experience and cultivating a team-first atmosphere.
- Experience in club operations and a deep understanding of high service standards.
- Hourly Rate: $18 – $50/hr (commensurate with experience)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Current Personal Training Certification (ACE, NASM, ISSA, ACSM, etc.)
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required
- Minimum 5 years of personal training and at least 1 year in a leadership role
- Preferred: Additional specialty certifications (CSCS, TPI, RacquetFit)

Schedule:
- 40 hours/week. Flexibility to support evenings and weekends as needed to meet member demand.
