Job Summary: The Assistant Manager is responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the cycling studio, checking all sound equipment weekly and placing food, beverage and supply orders as needed. The Assistant Manager works 5 MOD shifts each week. The Assistant Manager reports all maintenance needs to ensure all studio equipment is consistently functioning.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for weekly bike checks to ensure handlebars, pedals and frames are in good condition. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will support the Studio Manager with administrative tasks in their absence during PTO (IE: Scheduling, studio supply ordering). In the event the Studio Manager is unable to perform administrative and operational tasks (PTO), the Assistant Manager will assume those responsibilities. The Assistant Manager reports to the Studio Manager or Senior Studio Manager.

Key Responsibilities of the Job MOD Shift Tasks
  • Accurately processes all retail, rental, credit/membership purchases
  • Checks in all clients reserved in class and assists clients that need help booking classes
  • Responds to all voicemail and email inquiries according to studio protocols within their shift to the best of their abilities. Any items that remain will be communicated in the shift change (AM shift communicates to PM shift. PM shift communicates to DMS)
  • Ensures all Team Members and Instructors are on task. (Included but not limited to: timeliness, completing checklists, cleaning protocol, customer service expectations, etc)
  • Properly stocks all studio amenities
  • Oversees studio cleanliness during shift
  • Provides coaching and feedback to Team Members and Instructors
  • Complete Assistant Manager checklist
  • Communicates all necessary outstanding projects and updates to all team members who function in a MOD role
  • Complete the DMS email and send it to the Studio Manager and Head of Operations Working with Others
  • Contribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment to ensure a supportive and engaging experience for all team members and clients
  • Establish supportive and productive relationships with managers and team members
Contribute to creating a fun environment and helping team members see how the work supports the success of the studios and GritCycle overall Works productively with and supports others to achieve goals; seeks partnerships and diverse perspectives
  • Oversees Team Member performance and communicates any issues to Studio Manager/ Operations Manager Product
  • Order food and beverage and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Order studio supplies while staying within budget
  • Inventory and submit shoe rentals Retail
  • Organize the retail back of the house to maximize efficiency and internal shrinkage
  • Fold, sort and hang products according to protocol to optimize sell through Tag all necessary products with GritCycle retail tags
  • Complete weekly inventory counts every Monday
  • Merchandise inventory weekly to keep assortment fresh for clients
  • Maintain studio IOH retail organization to increase studio efficiency Operations
  • Checks all audio equipment weekly and communicates needs to the Studio Manager
  • Test rides bikes weekly and reports bike maintenance needs in the Bike Log and DMS
  • Follows up with an email to bike reaper company when a minimum of 4 bikes have gone down
  • Perform work in accordance with company standards, policies, procedures and laws or regulations
  • Use MarianaTek to support studio operations
  • Ensure that Loss prevention practices are being implemented within the studio
  • Is careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
  • Oversees and manages facility cleanliness and organization. Creating efficiency amongst the studio operations
  • Reviewing Facility walkthroughs and ensuring cleanliness tasks are being executed
  • In the absence of the Studio Manager (PTO), The Assistant Manager will assist in the following:
  • Continue ordering studio supplies while staying within budget
  • Continue ordering food and beverage while maintaining inventory accuracy
  • In the point of contact for staff members and will report to the Head of Operations for the following
  • Emergencies
  • Shift coverage – after attempting to cover shift with staff members
  • Urgent Maintenance and repairs
  • Adjustments to the schedule in When I Work
  • Submitting staff payroll within 24 hours of the pay period ending (unless otherwise requested by HR/Payroll Manager)
  • Approve shifts and schedule adjustments in When I Work Standards
  • Perform work in accordance with company standards, policies, procedures, and laws or regulations
  • Accepts responsibility/accountability for actions; is dependable
  • Behaves in an honest, fair, and ethical manner
  • Is enthusiastic about one’s own work; looks for ways to make work fun and engaging

  • Maintain an active CPR certification and uphold protocol for client and staff safety Eligibility
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to attest to employment authorization
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have employment eligibility and identity documents
  • Must have the ability to travel to studios and headquarters with own transportation methods Availability
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings or late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Available to attend quarterly Team Meetings
  • Must work 5 MOD shifts a week and be available to work at least one weekend shift a week
  • Attend monthly MOD check ins with your Studio Manager
  • Available to attend continuing education biannually with Head of Operations Other Willingness Requirements
  • Willing to work in an environment with bright lights and loud music
  • Willing to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Willing to move boxes weighing up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg)

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
