- Assist the building principal with student discipline, attendance, transportation, records, and conferences.
- Coordinate and manage Title I hiring, placement, evaluation and staff development for targeted services and summer school.
- Work with building principal to maintain open communication with staff, district personnel, parents and community.
- Coordinate and manage student state assessment process for the building.
- Assist with classroom observations/evaluations of teachers, instructional assistants, and lunchroom/playground supervisors.
- Support and promote the school district and site vision, goals, priorities, expectations and plans.
- Act as a resource for classroom teachers/substitutes.
- Support established guidelines for appropriate student conduct and behavior management procedures.
- Assist building principal with parent groups and disseminate information to parents concerning school-related matters and students.
- Manage staff, students and building issues when the principal is off site.
- Work cooperatively with the building principal to coordinate the purchase and inventory of supplies and textbooks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Primary Years Program of IB.
- Demonstrate professional, ethical and responsible behavior.
- Foster positive change and inclusivity through an equity-focused approach, while setting a strong example for both staff and students.
- Comply with all laws, school board policies and school district procedures.
- Serve on various building/district committees.

- Current K-12 Minnesota Principal license or evidence of qualifying for license before employment begins.
- Master’s degree (emphasis in Educational Leadership, Organizational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction preferred).
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
- Knowledge and experience with leading in a PYP World School preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with PBIS and MTSS.
- Effective skills in staff motivation, supervision, instructional improvement, curriculum development and on-site management
- Ability to work effectively with other administrators, teachers, staff, students, parents and the community.
- Commitment to being an instructional leader.

Job Summary
To work in cooperation with the building principal, provide assistance for the operation and functions of the school. Work directly with all staff, students, parents and district personnel. In the absence of the building principal, assume the duties of the principal. Manage crisis situations including child protection reporting, counseling referrals, placement recommendations and how and when to ensure safety of other children.
