Tots & Blocks in Old Bridge is looking for an part time Assistant Teacher to work in classrooms. Hour would be very flexible. 5 days or 3 days - 9am to 12pm
As a Teacher, some of your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that all students enjoy a safe, sanitary and enjoyable learning environment.
- Must follow the daily schedule and plans as per the teacher instructions.
- Assist the teacher in maintaining their own bulletin board every month.
- Maintain neat and professional attire.
- Supervise age appropriate activities.
- Supervise children: monitor, direct, protect, encourage, and nurture children.
- Must attend mandatory staff meetings, required training, and continuing education.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children.
- Must complete the required training hours within the timeframe given.
- Must write and maintain records of accidents and incidents that occur.
- Must meet all applicable licensing regulations.
- Must instruct children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
- Must change diapers if needed while following diaper changing procedures as well as assist in potty training procedures.
- Must complete the cleaning checklist prior to leaving at the end of their shift.
Requirements include:
- A genuine love for working with children.
- High School/GED
- 2+ year of working with children experience.
- An understanding of health and safety guidelines.
