Associate Product Manager – Portfolio Risk Platform

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced Associate Product Manager to oversee the continued development and delivery of the Firm’s risk analytics platform. In managing the digital platform, the successful candidate will be joining a team that is responsible for conceptualizing and defining the development roadmap, overseeing the technical delivery of enhancements, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the ongoing success of the product. This role will also be focused on Engagement and Adoption effort with Morgan Stanley’s Field of Financial Advisors, responsible for communications and marketing collateral, tracking adoption metrics, soliciting Financial Advisor feedback. The associate will also work closely with Financial Advisors to adopt best practices on leveraging the digital platform and assist in creating analyses to support client and prospective client opportunities. The associate will also partner with National Sales and local management team to align with and help drive business development efforts. Domestic travel may be required to attend and present at meetings and events.
This candidate should have strong management skills and a proven record of managing a book of work. Successful candidates will have exception communications skills, familiarity with financial services, and ideally experience working with Financial Advisors. Furthermore, the candidate should have be familiar with financial risk metrics and analytics platforms.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Conceptualize the strategy and define the long-term roadmap of the Portfolio Risk Platform
- Partner with Technology to develop and deliver platform releases and enhancements using the Agile methodology
- Interface with key/senior stakeholders, governing bodies, control partners, and business partners to discuss the progress of projects associated with the Portfolio Risk Platform
- Collaborate with other Product Management teams to ensure seamless integration of various platforms to create an optimal Financial Advisor experience
- Function as point person and liaison with third party vendor (BlackRock) to provide guidance, ensure effective communication, and execute on the delivery of expected product builds
- Inform and consult on Engagement and Adoption efforts to help drive ongoing adoption of the platform amongst Morgan Stanley’s Field of Financial Advisors
- Develop communications and marketing collateral
- Create and oversee training material
- Represent the platform at various Field events
- Track adoption metrics and report status to Senior Management
- Solicit feedback and ensure it is incorporated into the product build roadmap
Qualifications - Internal
- 1-3 years of financial services/wealth management experience
- 2+ years of experience in a digital product management role
- Strong expertise in financial risk analytics
- Experience working in Wealth Management and with Financial Advisors preferred
- Proven ability to work across departments to influence others at senior levels and build strong relationships
- Strong organizational skills with ability to drive strategic initiatives forward in an independent manner
- Highly analytical and effective communication skills
- Working knowledge of the MS office product suite for presentations and analysis
- An undergraduate degree (B.A, B.S., or equivalent) required
- FINRA Series 7 and either Series 66 or both Series 65 and 63 (or successful completion within 6 months of starting)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
