Job Overview
A leading developer in the autonomous vehicle and robotics industry is seeking Automotive & Robotics Technicians to support the build, maintenance, and operation of robotic platforms and modified vehicles. This role combines mechanical, electrical, and field support work, making it perfect for someone who enjoys working on real-world systems in a fast-paced, technical environment.
You will play a critical role in installing hardware, diagnosing issues, performing maintenance, and supporting field deployments while collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and integrate sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and other custom hardware.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on robotic systems and vehicle platforms.
- Perform preventative maintenance, retrofits, and hardware updates as needed.
- Support field deployments by providing on-site service, troubleshooting, and hardware swaps.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to assist with testing and prototyping.
- Maintain tools, manage inventory, and document repairs and procedures accurately.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in automotive service, automotive retrofit, robotics, or a similar technical field.
- Proficient with mechanical and electrical tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and follow technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Comfortable working with AC/DC systems, connectors, and electronic modules.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally when needed.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in field environments.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electric vehicles, autonomous systems, or sensor installations.
- Basic soldering, crimping, or prototyping skills.
- Familiarity with integrating robotics hardware into real-world systems.
