Job Title: Banquet Manager
Department: Food and Beverage
Reports to: VP of Food and Beverage
The Banquet Manager is responsible for the direction and execution of all banquet operations at the resort, leading a high-performing team to ensure operational excellence. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced resort environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Focus on safety for yourself and others.
- Actively recruit and retain top talent for the resort team.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Partner successfully with the Sales department.
- Supervise function room setups prior to guest arrival, ensuring all details align with client requirements and resort standards.
- Monitor preparation and distribution of the Daily Event Sheet; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify groups without scheduled functions and communicate with outlets to help them anticipate business levels.
- Meet with the Chef prior to functions to confirm arrangements and observe food presentation quality.
- Check that functions are properly staffed to meet service standards; ensure associates are well-groomed and address deficiencies with the supervisor on duty.
- Assist in supervising the service of functions, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Support outlet operations in the absence of planned events.
Next Level Duties:
- Prior banquet leadership experience, including weddings, social, and corporate markets.
- Proven track record of operational success.
- Previous experience and knowledge of budgets and P&L management.
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
- Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
Must Have Personal Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of interpersonal and guest interaction skills.
- Commitment to ensuring guest safety and well-being.
- Ability to work in a fun, fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to speak and read English; additional languages are a plus.
