POSITION SUMMARY: The Instructor is responsible for leading and delivering a remarkable barre3 class and client experience. Barre3 St. Louis - Des Peres Instructors have a passion for fitness while embracing whole-body health, community, and connection.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: This position requires that you become a certified barre3 Instructor, by completing the New Instructor Training Program provided by barre3 Corporate. To become a certified barre3 Instructor you will be required to:
- Pass an audition locally with a barre3 St. Louis - Des Peres Lead Mentor and approval from the barre3 Corporate Instructor Training Team
- Complete five weeks of pre-training coursework as prescribed by the barre3 Corporate team and facilitated by the local studio Lead Mentor
- Attend weekly in-person workshops with the barre3 St. Louis - Des Peres Lead Mentor
- Attend a two-day Virtual Intensive led by the barre3 Corporate team
- Teach a minimum of four (number varies based on skill set and will be determined by the barre3 St. Louis - Des Peres Lead Mentor) Instructor-In-Training classes until you meet the brand standards set forth by the barre3 Corporate team
As a certified Instructor you are approved to:
- Teach the barre3 Signature class
TEACHING REQUIREMENTS:
- Teach using the current guidelines and brand standards for the barre3 class
- Teach 3-4 classes per week with rotating weekends
- Arrive to the studio with music and approved class sequencing prepared
- Communicate body alignment and the barre3 brand and core values through mindful cueing
- Build strong relationships with barre3 clients before, during, and after class
- Weekend Teaching Policy:
- Rotate 2 weekends per month
- Participate in class reviews and self-assessments throughout the year for continued growth and development
OTHER KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Remarkable Customer Service & Build Strong Client Connection: Provide welcoming service and quality class education; communicates effectively with clients and guests about the barre3 brand and core values, before, during and after class
Actively Improve Teaching Skills Through Continued Education: Stay up to date on current philosophies, teachings, and certifications provided by the barre3 Training Team in order to effectively deliver barre3 classes that will retain the client base
Engage in Team Culture & Relationships: Support strong team culture by communicating with team members in a way that uplifts workplace culture and fulfills barre3’s core values
OTHER JOB EXPECTATIONS:
- Execute strong communication skills and a professional presence to staff and clients
- Maintain a basic understanding of studio booking platform with the ability to check-in clients, and complete retail transactions
- Clean, sanitize, and prepare the studio for the next class as stated by the studio clearing policies
- Support fellow Instructors and your own personal growth by taking classes and subbing
- Participate in class check-ins and regular goal setting with Mentor and/or Lead Mentor(s), and annual performance review with Studio Lead Mentor(s).
- Take direction and constructive feedback with a growth mindset
- Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance
- Attend meetings/workshops and meetings/training sessions as hosted by barre3 St. Louis - Des Peres

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
