This is a great position for someone looking to add a few hours to their week, most of our employees have another full-time job and work 1-2 shifts a week! We are very flexible with scheduling, and you will get your schedule one month at a time.
Overview
Shakopee BrewHall is seeking a passionate, outgoing, and customer-focused Barista and Beertender to join our team! You'll be the face of our taproom and coffee bar, helping us create a welcoming and engaging experience for every guest.
We proudly serve our brewed in-house beer and coffee, seltzers, and a growing menu of non-alcoholic beverages. While some shifts may be coffee or beer-focused, all team members are expected to confidently work both the coffee and beer sides.
Barista Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality coffee and tea beverages using established recipes.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain clean and stocked coffee stations throughout the shift.
- Educate guests about coffee selections and make personalized recommendations.
Beertender Duties
- Pour and serve draft beer, seltzers, and other beverages following proper serving techniques and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge of the current beer lineup and be able to describe flavor profiles, ingredients, and potentially even the brewing process!
- Assist in preparing and promoting weekly beer infusions and other specialty offerings.
- Maintain tap cleanliness and keg rotation standards, including basic line maintenance and reporting any issues.
- Ensure guests are of legal drinking age and monitor alcohol consumption for responsible service.
General Taproom Duties
- Provide warm, friendly, and attentive customer service throughout the guest experience.
- Accurately take orders and process transactions using Arryved POS systems.
- Monitor product inventory (coffee beans, syrups, kegs, cups, etc.) and communicate low stock.
- Support food prep and service when applicable (snacks, pre-packaged goods).
- Keep the taproom, bar area, tables, and equipment clean, organized, and compliant with health codes.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment by supporting coworkers and maintaining a positive attitude.
Experience
- Previous experience in the bar industry or as a Barista is preferred but not required, training is a big part of our onboarding!
- Familiarity with brewing techniques and coffee types is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures is beneficial.
- Experience with Arryved POS systems is a plus but not mandatory.
- A friendly demeanor with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

A big perk is the flexible schedule, you tell us your availability for the month and we get your schedule set. There is always opportunities to pick up shifts, but most bartenders have 1-2 shifts a week.
