Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate would work closely with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, implementing behavioral therapy techniques and supporting their growth and development. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to collect data effectively to track progress.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Conduct patient assessments to identify needs and develop appropriate strategies for support.
- Collect and analyze data on patient behavior to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Provide direct support to children in various settings, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records of patient interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in behavioral therapy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred
- 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
- Additional languages (Mandarin, Spanish, etc.) are a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients, families, and team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and handling challenging situations
- Must be physically able to perform the job functions and work with young children with special needs.
Skills
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of special education practices and behavioral health principles.
- Proficiency in data collection methods and patient assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy approaches and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to provide patient care with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
