What you will do in this role:
- Provide patient care tasks delegated by the RN, including taking vital signs, collecting specimens, documenting care, facilitating group education, and monitoring patients.
- Demonstrate effective milieu management and accompany patients to meals, breaks, off€‘unit visits, and appointments.
- Report medical or psychiatric changes to the RN and assist with admissions, including belongings inventory, visitation, and vital signs.
- Document property at admission and discharge, conduct safety checks, and promote a clean, therapeutic environment.
- Encourage patients with activities of daily living and facilitate or co€‘facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.
- Apply crisis intervention and de€‘escalation techniques and maintain knowledge of program policies and procedures.
- Provide orientation and mentorship to new staff members, serve as a preceptor, and train colleagues on group facilitation and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
- Employ therapeutic communication, assess patient needs related to chemical dependency, and document plans of care from admission through discharge.
- Participate in treatment planning as part of the interdisciplinary team and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric
- patients preferred.
- Will require valid driver's license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using personal or hospital owned vehicle.

CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
