Summary:
This is a casual or part time position that requires full time travel to locations.
A BMET III usually has a two or four-year degree or the associated experience to maintain most patient care equipment, including some specialized devices. A BMET III has a working knowledge of schematics and a mastery of skills associated with the maintenance of medical equipment. This technician can work independently on repairs and calibrations; maintains accurate and complete service records and coordinates/manages vendor repairs and can step in as a key decision maker in the absence of the Account Manager. A BMET III strives for further education and responsibility and is well on-track to become a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or similar. A BMET III is essential to the RENOVO program in setting an example for junior technicians and apprentices; demonstrating solid technical, problem solving, administrative and customer service skills. As a BMET III, the individual could continue their development into a supervisory role.
What you will do:
Assemble, repair, and maintain patient care equipment according to their specifications
Manage the facility’s scheduled maintenance program
Document all activities in Renovo’s proprietary system (RenovoLive)
Maintain departmental performance standards and goals
Support cost containment under the direction of a supervisor or manager
Provide mentoring and training to BMETs and apprentices
Adhere to KPI targets related to task execution and support the team in achieving KPIs consistently
Comply with Renovo and hospital policies
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience as a biomedical technician
Knowledge of electromechanical devices and principles, as well as a thorough understanding of general patient care equipment and can demonstrate the usage of supported devices
Understanding of life-support and diagnostic support devices and their usage within the healthcare setting
Proficient with multiple devices / modalities (ex. Patient Monitoring) and is an expert on the topic
Requirement: need to pass a background check and drug screening

Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities:
The BMET III reports to – HTM Manager and/or Supervisor, Biomedical Engineering
This position has some supervisory responsibilities
Safety:
Abide and follow our Injury & Illness Prevention Program and Covid-19 Prevention Program.
Maintains a safe working environment for self and others they come in contact within the biomed area in accordance with the facility’s policies.
Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices.
Ontime completion of safety trainings assignments (HealthStream).
Travel:
Travel is required.
