Position Overview: Sunrise Irrigation is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with financial best practices. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a fast-paced environment and familiarity with skilled trades industries such as construction, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, or related services. This role requires strong technical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting company operations.
Key Responsibilities:
•Maintain and manage financial records using QuickBooks Online
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Assist the Controller with preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
- Maintain compliance with financial policies and internal controls
- Organize and maintain all financial documentation for audits and reporting purposes
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate job costing and expense allocation
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting systems
Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 2–3 years of experience in bookkeeping or related accounting roles
- Prior experience in a skilled trades environment (e.g., construction, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping) strongly preferred
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QuickBooks Online Certification preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel &Office Suit
- ServiceTitan experience is a plus
- Familiarity with payroll processing and job cost tracking is a plus
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team setting
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
