Bookkeeper
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Responsible for accounts payable workflows: Matching Invoices to PO’s and Receivers to preparing check runs and sales tax returns and reconciling vendor statements.
- Assist in processing payroll and maintaining employee records related to payroll.
- Communicate with vendors and other team members to complete assigned tasks.
- Monitor financial transactions & reports for accuracy & compliance w/ company policy.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records including GL Acct. Reconciliations.
- Assist with preparation and documentation for month-end, audits, and tax filings.
- Prepare financial reports, such as labor, materials, job costing, and others.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven bookkeeping experience or similar role.
- High degree of accuracy, diligence and sound problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and a “Can Do” attitude.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with payroll and relevant tax procedures is a plus.
- Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar.
- Experience in a small to mid-sized business environment.
- Strong Excel skillset
