JOB SUMMARY:
The City of Saco is seeking a reliable and technically skilled Broadcast Technician to support the live broadcasting, camera operation, and streaming of City Council and Planning Board meetings. This role ensures that public meetings are accessible and professionally presented through high-quality live and recorded video. In addition to regularly scheduled meetings averaging 5 hours a week, there may be opportunities for additional (optional) hours to support live broadcasts or recordings of other city events or meetings as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate video production equipment during live City Council and Planning Board meetings
- Switch between camera angles and presentation displays, and manage audio feeds for optimal coverage and clarity
- Operate live graphics program to accurately display time and agenda items for viewers
- Start and monitor live TV broadcasts and online streaming platforms (Cable channel broadcast, YouTube stream, Facebook stream, and City website stream)
- Ensure meetings are recorded properly for archiving and future playback
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to broadcasting, audio, or video
- Coordinate with city staff before meetings to confirm agenda timing and technical needs
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of broadcast and audio/video equipment, as needed
