Position Summary
Perform maintenance and repairs to the grounds and facilities of a cGMP manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Grounds and Facility Repairs:
- Electrical Repairs
- Utilize drawings, vendor diagrams, and electrical troubleshooting tools, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical problems including outlets, lights, and automatic door control circuits.
- Utilize Lockout Tagout procedures to ensure work area is safe prior to performing repairs.
- Roof Repairs
- Install and repair clean room ceilings including fiberglass reinforced plastic, sheetrock, and Saniflex membrane.
- Diagnose and repair external roof problems.
- Plumbing Repairs
- Diagnose, repair, and install plumbing such as sweating copper pipe, threading pipe, and slip joint pipe installation.
- Diagnose and repair faucets, toilets, and water fountains.
- Door, Floor, and Wall Repairs
- Install door closers, door latches and door hinges. Repair door frames, door interlock systems, and auto door closers.
- Weld items such as bollards, doors, covers, brackets and railing.
- Repair carpeting, tile, and ISO 7 and 8 clean room epoxy flooring.
- External Gates, Parking Lot, Lighting, Fencing, and other structures
- Diagnose and make repairs to external facility areas
- Electrical Repairs
- Vendor Management:
- Represent the company when working with outside contractors. Communicate company needs and schedules to contractors and determine work required.
- Schedule work to minimize conflicts with production schedules.
- Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and plant policies/rules.
- Documentation:
- Complete documentation associated with inspections and repairs in either Corrective or Preventive work orders as appropriate.
- Write miscellaneous purchase requests.
- Adheres to cGMP guidelines, SOP's, safety regulations and plant policies/rules.
- Following problem analysis, identify routine maintenance corrective actions and coordinate repair plans.
- Recognize problem trends and propose solutions. Incumbent must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form the nature of the problems and proposed resolutions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and piping drawings and schematics.
- Understand operation and demonstrate ability to utilize tools such as electrical multi-meters, pipe threaders, welders (stick welding, soldering, and TIG), hand tools and others.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical procedures, floor repair, rigging, facility tool use, mechanical doors, door actuators, door latches, painting, building construction, architectural/industrial building materials and safety requirements.
- Must be able to qualify for safety harness training.
- Must be able to operate and maintain licensing for a forklift, platform scissor lift, and extension boom lift.
- Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English. Computer skills, with one-year experience (or demonstrated proficiency) in using word processing, work order processing software, and spreadsheet programs.
- Basic math ability and above average manual dexterity.
- Must be able to pass technical skills test, demonstrate understanding of blueprints and drawings, understanding and utilization of precision measuring tools, knowledge of welding and facility repair techniques.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of two years’ experience performing ground and facility repairs.
- Preferred experience performing repairs in a regulated industry with clean room operations (minimum of ISO 7).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Typical work environment may be in maintenance shop with overhead cranes and welding equipment as required; manufacturing areas which may be in or out of the clean room which may contain open and noisy moving equipment. May work outdoors and on the roof for repairs and to maneuver, load or dispose of materials or retrieve deliveries.
- Must be able work at heights, kneel, climb, and be able to access and work in tight spaces for prolonged periods of time.
- Must possess good hand dexterity and flexibility and be able to stand, kneel, squat, and bend for extended periods to troubleshoot and perform repairs.

Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
