Your adventure begins now—unleash your potential with ManTech!ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cable technician to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The Cable SME is responsible for supporting operational design, installation and testing of newly installed and existing cable, telephone, and fiber-optic systems. Also perform maintenance on existing cable systems for repair and compliance. The selected candidate will be able to provide hands-on experience with digital cable boxes, satellite television dishes and computer network equipment and cables. The successful candidate will ensure that cable systems are fully operational and designed to meet client and technical specifications.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- With no supervision and minimal guidance, evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, and perform problem isolation and resolution of cabling issues and update the results in a cabling database.
- Install data and voice cables for business cable television and router/switched systems.
- Grade existing cable television and internet systems
- Provide Tier III engineering support to a globally distributed services team globally dispersed customer base.
- Interface with agency and non-agency sites via emails/phone to walk them through hands-on troubleshooting.
- Work flexible hours, staying until the job is completed (mission is restored).
- Conduct site surveys, prepares configuration capture (documents) computers, networking devices, and various peripheral equipment impacted by the cable plant.
- Deploy, terminate and install various types of cable (copper/fiber) at CONUS and OCONUS using Certified Testing Equipment.
- Communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences, including customers, team partners, and other staff members.
- Travel is required in support of service requirements ~10-20%. This position also offers opportunities to support other bodies of work, at different locations, and to travel both CONUS and OCONUS (no hostile areas).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 additional years of relevant experience. Four years of experience may be substituted for education
- Successful candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in low voltage cable repair and installation.
- Basic understanding of site drawings, prints, schematics, and room layouts.
- Basic knowledge of the TIA/EIA color code for copper and fiber cabling systems.
- 4 years of experience in programs and contracts
- Experience with service management knowledge in key ITSM processes including incident management, problem management, change management, service level management and knowledge management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with customer ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Experience in a technical role with an understanding of IT equipment and service life as well as planning and implementation of equipment replacement
- Experience with large scale enterprise IT contracts
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Poly
Physical Requirements:
- The person must be able to handle cable of varying lengths, widths and weights and the associated equipment. The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally moving about inside the office to collaborate with other leaders/teams, use standard office automation equipment, and virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Climbing up and down numerous size ladders and working under a raised floor environment.
- Working both indoor and outdoor environments.
The projected compensation range for this position is $83,300.00-$138,800.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
