Overview
We’re hiring a hands-on Café Manager to run day-to-day operations of our coffee and food service. You’ll lead a small team in a fast-paced café environment, ensure top-quality beverages and menu items, maintain safety standards, control costs and deliver outstanding guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all café activities (opening, service, closing) to meet speed, quality and cleanliness goals
- Recruit, train and mentor baristas and support staff; conduct interviews and performance reviews
- Manage inventory, order supplies and minimize waste through accurate forecasting and portion control
- Enforce food safety, health codes and clean-as-you-go protocols
- Monitor sales, labor and COGS; prepare daily/weekly reports and recommend cost-control actions
- Lead by example on customer service, handle escalations and ensure repeat business
- Collaborate with chef/kitchen team on menu execution, recipe adherence and seasonal specials
- Maintain café equipment (espresso machines, grinders, ovens) and coordinate preventative maintenance
- Use POS data to analyze trends, adjust staffing and product mix for optimal profitability
Experience & Qualifications
- 1+ years in a supervisory role within a café, quick-service or hotel F&B setting
- Proven ability to hire, train and retain high-performing teams
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, P&L monitoring and cost-control measures
- Deep knowledge of coffee extraction, beverage prep and food handling standards
- Proficient with café POS systems, inventory software and basic Excel reporting
- Excellent communicator who fosters teamwork and drives positive culture
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends and holidays
