Position Summary:
The Capital Projects Drafter II is key to driving the success of our pharmaceutical manufacturing projects by creating detailed, accurate Automated Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD) drawings that meet regulatory and quality standards. This role fosters collaboration across teams, ensuring designs align with project specifications, while mentoring junior drafters to build technical expertise. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and refines highly detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring full compliance with corporate standards, regulatory guidelines, and project specifications to support capital projects in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Leads and mentor’s junior drafters, providing guidance on best practices for drawing creation, document management, and quality control, while ensuring alignment with company templates and design standards.
  • Collaborates closely with engineering, facilities, validation, and quality assurance teams to review project requirements, provide input on design feasibility, and ensure that technical drawings meet all operational, regulatory, and quality benchmarks.
  • Manages the complete lifecycle of engineering drawings, from creation through revision control and final approval, ensuring the accuracy, versioning, and secure storage of all documentation within the company’s document management system.
  • Conducts site visits and field measurements to verify existing conditions, gather critical data, and ensure that engineering drawings accurately reflect real-world specifications, facilitating seamless project execution and compliance.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments, mentor team members, and adapt to evolving project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced in AutoCAD software, deep understanding of engineering drawing standards, corporate templates, and document control procedures, along with knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting, engineering drawings, and capital project support within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector, with a focus on regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Requires an Associate’s degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field; a bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture is preferred.
  • Certified Drafter (CD), AutoCAD Certified Professional, Project Management Professional (PMP), Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification, Building Information Modeling (BIM) Certification, and National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certification are strongly preferred.
