Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly in settings such as nursing homes or home community care. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
• Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in condition to healthcare professionals.
• Administer first aid and CPR as needed, ensuring the safety of clients at all times.
• Support individuals with dementia care by employing specialized techniques to enhance communication and engagement.
• Uphold resident rights by maintaining privacy and dignity while providing care.
• Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
• Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
• Responsible for day-to-day operation of the program.
• Maintain cleanliness of each location, rooms, kitchen, and living areas as necessary.
• Cook and prepare daily healthy meals.
• Participates in positive interactions with each member and encourage each member to complete simple tasks independently.o Always maintain and ensure the safety of each member by adhering to the house rules in place.
• Follow the scheduled daily job duties posted in common areas.
• Assist members with daily laundry as needed. This includes towels, bedsheets, comforters, and bathroom rugs to be washed and cleanedas needed.
• Ensure that pet areas are clean and trash are thrown out.o Implement basic life skills training, development, and understanding.o Support self-administration of medications.
• Provide space for members to engage with home based basic duties.o Promote self-independence

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A passion for the Homeless Population with a mission to collaboratewith people to foster self-reliance, a belief in the capacity for a person to change for the better.
• A minimum of one years’ experience working with homeless peopleand cultivating a workplace culture by hope, respect, and empathy.o Ability to be sensitive and responsive to diversity.
• Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change.o Ability to work independently and in partnership with team members.o Must be honest.
• The ability to set limits and boundaries that maintain the helping roleof assisting others with setting healthy boundaries.o Ability to communicate effectively with members, co-workers,volunteers, and supervisorso Seeking to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities in related serviceareas.
• Proof of California State Driver’s License, driving record, and autoinsurance.o CPR/First Aid certifications required; or obtain within 90 days of hireo Full understanding of the program requirements
• Must pass background check
• Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as nursing homes or direct support is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of patient rights and the ability to advocate for clients' needs.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Ability to observe and report changes in patients’ conditions accurately.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
