Job Summary:
Caring Friends Health Care Services is seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC or CSAC-Supervisee) to provide assessments and daily counseling sessions to clients navigating substance use challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments
- Provide daily individual and/or group counseling
- Support relapse prevention and recovery plans
- Refer clients to external resources as needed
- Maintain timely and compliant documentation
Requirements:
- Active CSAC or CSAC-Supervisee registration in Virginia
- Minimum of 180–2,000 hours of supervised experience (based on certification level)
- Training in substance abuse counseling
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Certification preferred
- Behavioral and recovery support training
- Ongoing clinical supervision and DBHDS-required training
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
