CHILD NUTRITIONIST III (SERVER)

Mon-Fri - 2.5 hours/day - 11:00 am-1:30 pm


SUMMARY: Under the direction of the lead cook, assists in the serving and cleanup of high quality, nutritious meals meeting USDA and school district requirements in the time allotted. Perform the following duties under the direction of the Nutrition Services Director.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of USDA menu planning and nutritional guidelines.
  • Exhibits a professional attitude at all times and a willingness to work with others in a positive, cooperative and pleasant manner. Effectively communicate with students, teachers, principals, administrators, supervisors, and the public in a pleasant and courteous manner.
  • Participates in preparation and service of high-quality meals that meet Health Department, USDA, and Nutrition Services requirements.
  • Participates in the proper handling of leftovers and cleanup of dining and kitchen areas at the end of meal service. Operates the dish machine according to established procedures.
  • May assist with on-the job training of Nutrition Services substitutes.
  • May assist in receiving and storage of supplies delivered as needed.
  • Attends scheduled department staff meetings. Demonstrates a commitment to continued professional growth and development by attending relevant trainings, classes, and workshops.
  • Promotes and demonstrates customer service.
  • Operates the Nutrition Services point of sale computer software system or a willingness to learn to operate.
  • Exhibits a willingness to train, learn and perform responsibilities of assistant cook position as needed during his/her absence.
  • Fulfills other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); job related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Terms of Employment:

This position will begin at the start of the 2025/2026 school year. Mon-Fri – 2.5 hours/day – 11:00 am–1:30 pm.
