Job Description:Emerge Church, a new and vibrant church with a smaller congregation less than a year old, is seeking a dedicated and talented drummer to join our worship team. We are a forward thinking ministry and youthful at heart. As our drummer, you will play a crucial role in leading our congregation in worship through music. This position requires a commitment to excellence, reliability, and a Christ-centered heart.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform during Sunday worship services, playing contemporary Christian music.
- Collaborate with the worship team to create a cohesive and inspiring musical experience.
- Adapt to various musical styles and flow spontaneously during worship.
- Maintain a consistent and reliable schedule, arriving on time for all services and rehearsals.
- Attend one weekday rehearsal for one hour each week.
- Contribute to the spiritual and musical growth of the worship team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a drummer, preferably in a worship or church setting.
- Strong sense of timing and rhythm.
- Ability to play contemporary Christian music by artists such as Todd Dulaney, Tasha Cobbs, Maverick City, Elevation Worship, and more.
- Dependable and punctual; must be committed to arriving on time for all commitments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Christ-centered with a desire to serve the church community through music.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new musical styles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of contemporary Christian worship music.
- Experience with percussion instruments.
- Enhance the overall worship experience through musical contributions
- Proficiency in playing the drums with a strong sense of rhythm and timing
- Experience playing in a church or worship setting is preferred
- Ability to adapt to various musical styles and genres commonly used in church services
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
