Class Monitor [Entry Level], Imani House After School Program - Park Slope Brooklyn
Imani House, Inc. seeks a Class Monitor for our After School program.

- Are you available to work with us Monday - Friday, 2:30 to 5:30? This position is 5 days a week, with possible increase in Summer hours?
This is an important entry-level job if you like working with children and/or are interested in starting. It's a chance to learn important skills and become a part of a winning team. Opportunities for advancement are guaranteed for the right person. Must be a high school graduate or GED Holder
HOURS RANGE FROM 15 TO 17 PER WEEK Starting in September. Summer Camp Hours range from 25 - 30 hours weekly. Rates of pay are entry level. There is always the opportunity for growth within the organization.
Children at Imani House participate in various performing arts, literacy, STEM, Steel Pan, Visual Arts, Archery, Dance, Music, Showcases, Sports, fun educational activities and interactions that help them learn and prepare for a positive future.
Classroom Monitors Are Very Important:
- You will work with the students' classroom instructors, helping to look after the children, monitor the halls, and assist in supporting the classroom activities in whichever way is needed.
- You will learn with the best and move up to a Group Leader/Classroom Instructor if you perform well
PLEASE NOTE: This position requires that you are available Monday - Friday 2:15 to 5:30 (6:00) and some holidays.
EXPERIENCE / ATTRIBUTES: We are looking for dedicated individuals who are at least 18 years old with their high school diploma, are disciplined, organized, alert, hardworking, interested in working with children and capable of following directions:
- Energetic, enthusiastic, cooperative, creative, sharp, learns quickly, and is willing to collaborate with a partner group leader
- Has a pleasant personality with children, co-workers, and management
- Can follow our dress code, IHI T-shirts and no hats or multiple piercing
- Must be reliable, punctual, honest, and have excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to present yourself as a positive role model
- Very good communication skills
- Must pass pre-employment background clearances through the Dept. of Health and the City
- Previous experience with children is a PLUS
