We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lead Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our building. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and security tasks to ensure the building is kept in top condition. This position involves a focus on detail and cleaning every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the building, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Ensure the building is cleaned to high standards each evening.
- Monitor and maintain building security, including locking doors, turning off lights, and ensuring the premises are secure at the end of the shift.
- Address any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and handle cleaning supplies safely.
- Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Daily Janitorial Tasks:
- Clean entrance door handles, interior glass, mirrors, and remove fingerprints. Clean reflective surfaces (metal, stainless steel, etc.). Sweep, damp mop, and vacuum floors, including corners, edges, carpets, and mats. Remove gum and shoe marks. Clean furniture, shoe displays, and shelving (dust and damp wipe, including high dusting). Clean register area and disinfect touchpoints. Clean showcase and accessory areas. Clean stainless steel items (e.g., collets, elevators, escalators). Restock and clean restrooms and fitting rooms. Clean break room: disinfect counters, appliances, eating areas, and drinking fountains. Properly bag and dispose of garbage and recycling. Clean and sanitize telephones. Sweep storefront area. Spot clean exterior display windows.
Weekly Tasks:
- Clean high areas and shelves (rotate sections weekly). Dust light fixtures and AC vents. Dust and wipe down logos.
Responsibilities
- Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
- Make adjustments and minor repairs
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Cooperate with the rest of the staff
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Skills
- Proven experience as a detailed cleaner
- STRIP/WAX floor experience is a plus
- Sealing/Waxing/High-Speed Buffing
- Cleaning/Disinfecting and Sanitation
- Complete Floor Surface Care
- Good communication skills and reliability
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
- Integrity and ability to work independently
