Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cocinero de linea to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a line cook, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation. This position is essential in ensuring that our food service operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
- Assist in the management of inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor portion sizes and presentation of dishes before serving.
- Participate in catering events as required, contributing to menu planning and execution.
- Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus but not required.
