Overview:
REQUIREMENTS:
Seeking a full-time commercial escrow officer responsible for effectively managing real estate transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, managing funds, processing documents for closings, and completing settlements in accordance with established policies and procedures. Acts as a neutral liaison between parties, adheres to company policy, exercises independent judgment and possesses the knowledge and experience necessary to efficiently handle any situation which may arise during the escrow process.
Duties:
- Completes real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements; clearing titles; assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents; disbursing funds including compliance with real estate contracts, lender instructions, title requirements, company requirements and other written instructions
- Prepares transaction closing documents by assembling documents and forms.
- Collaborates with title department to resolve title issues such as legal descriptions, easements, lot splits, vesting, all tax liens, abstracts of judgments, bankruptcies, boundary disputes, encroachments, etc.
• Reviews documents with parties; explains provisions and procedures; answers questions; reviews documents for completeness and accuracy; obtains signatures • Corresponds with principals, lenders, real estate brokers and attorneys.
- Delegates work to and manages work of escrow assistants in the real estate transaction process.
- Complies with regulatory requirements and company policy by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements.
- Manages and develops client relationships to ensure future real estate closing transactions.
- Markets new business and makes calls on current and prospective clients.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
High School Diploma required, College Degree preferred.
Experience:
3 + years commercial escrow experience directly handling commercial escrow transactions as an escrow officer • Experience handling HUD, FNMA/Freddie Mac financing, SBA transactions and 1031 exchanges preferable.
REQUIREMENTS:
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry field.- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good client relations and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Exceptional verbal/written communication.
- Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information.
- Ability to deal with multiple types of roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, brokers and attorneys.
