Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Technician to join our growing commercial & industrial field team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on commercial rooftops, and ground-mount systems. You’ll work alongside electricians, engineers, and project managers to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and to code.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and maintain commercial and industrial PV systems (rooftop, carport, and ground-mount)
- Interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics
- Mount racking, solar modules, inverters, and related components
- Pull, route, and connect electrical wiring in compliance with NEC codes
- Ensure job site safety and cleanliness at all times
- Collaborate with project managers and electricians to meet deadlines
- Operate tools, lifts, and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Troubleshoot installation or performance issues as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout southeastern Wisconsin and work extended hours as needed
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred:
- NABCEP certification or relevant solar training
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Ability to work on ladders, rooftops, and lifts
- Prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling
- Tolerance to outdoor work in all seasons
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
